Raven: disruption as a value proposition

The Chilean technology Raven brought its headquarters to Madrid from Delaware, and plans to expand its business to the rest of Europe from here

“We design to Build”. It is the motto of the Chilean technology company Raven , which landed a few months ago in the Community of Madrid with a new proposal to make the companies installed here grow.

It is a technology-based services company that helps others to accelerate their businesses and reach new markets thanks to disruptive proposals. A tech specialized in business development for companies, but outside of the classic canons. Design, build and execute disruptive businesses for companies. They investigate and capture valuable ideas that they later turn into business proposals for companies to evolve and grow. Disruption is its own value proposition.

And what is disruption? “It is the reformulation of the basic principles of companies through the approach of new growth models and value propositions” explains the CEO of Raven, JJ de la Torre. "We help them grow outside of their core business , beyond what they do every day, looking for ways to launch new businesses in a faster and more powerful way, and capturing value that was not captured until then."

The idea is to set the company apart from its own competitors with a product or value proposition that questions the very foundations of the business.

Landing in Madrid

Raven has chosen the Community of Madrid to make the definitive leap to Europe and the Middle East, moving its headquarters here from Delaware, in the United States. In a coworking space located in the center of the capital, the technology company has opened a comprehensive office where they carry out all the axes of their activity: business development or business design, usability and content factory, growth and analytics, and technological development.

"Madrid has the perfect location to expand our business in Southern Europe and other markets such as the Middle East" clarifies JJ, who has also taken note of the regional commitment to creating professionals with a strong technological profile". “We have also found senior talent that has joined the project and has taken on business development or leadership roles. It has been a very good landing in terms of talent.” Since she landed, the Chilean has expanded her team by 11 people, a number that she expects to double "at least" throughout this year.

The CEO also praises the business climate and life that Madrid offers. “Madrid is a very cosmopolitan region where you can live very well and you can work very well. In addition, it offers us great access to clients with whom we can work and develop our business.

All this has led to the fact that they have chosen to transfer 90% of the management team here. "Our commitment goes hand in hand with Madrid's value proposition and the definition of Madrid as a fundamental axis in our growth and our international expansion," he concludes.

Support from Invest in Madrid

Raven began to assess the option of Madrid as the venue thanks to a seminar cycle trip that Invest in Madrid made to Chile and Colombia in the summer of 2022. “There we learned about the ecosystem and the facilities that exist, and that was when we considered that this community could be an opportunity. In addition, we were already working with companies that are based here, so we also consider it a natural evolution from the business development side. Madrid meets all the elements we needed to develop our business”.

The establishment of this company in Madrid has been done accompanied by Invest in Madrid. “Invest has helped us guide us through the steps, and the different bureaucratic elements that we had to solve. It's all been very easy."

JJ ends by recommending that Latin American investors open up to other options beyond the United States. And Madrid stands as the great alternative.
